Description

The Dahua C970 Plus 2TB is an internal M.2 2280 SSD that uses a PCIe Gen4 x4 interface with the NVMe protocol, delivering sequential reads of up to 7,200 MB/s and sequential writes of up to 6,400 MB/s. It combines top-tier Gen4 speeds with a large 2TB capacity at a budget-friendly price, making it one of the strongest value choices.

Design

The C970 Plus has a very slim 2.25 mm profile and weighs just 8 grams, making it easy to fit in laptops and compact PCs, and it can sit under the built-in M.2 heatsink found on most modern motherboards.

Performance

With reads of up to 7,200MB/s, Windows boot times, game loading and heavy applications speed up noticeably compared with a hard disk or a SATA SSD. With writes of up to 6,400MB/s and over one million random read IOPS, it handles modern games and video editing with ease, while a smart hybrid thermal-control algorithm keeps performance stable. Endurance is rated at 1,200 terabytes written (TBW), with a mean time between failures of 1.5 million hours.

Compatibility and installation

The Dahua C970 Plus installs straight into the M.2 slot of any NVMe-capable desktop motherboard or laptop and is held by a single screw, with no cables needed. It works on Intel and AMD platforms with Windows and Linux.

Technologies in plain words

  • NVMe: a modern protocol that lets the drive talk to the processor directly over PCIe, making it several times faster than SATA.
  • TBW: the total amount of data you can write to the drive over its life; a higher number means a more durable drive.
  • M.2 2280: the standard drive size, 22 mm wide and 80 mm long.
  • PCIe Gen4: the fourth generation of PCIe, with twice the bandwidth of Gen3.
  • 4K LDPC and S.M.A.R.T: advanced error correction and constant drive-health monitoring.
