Description

The LG WY1409WVP 9kg front load washing machine combines AI DD, Steam and a Low Ampere Cycle designed to draw less current – a very practical feature for Iraqi homes that depend on generators. It comes in White (WY1409WVP) and Black (WY1409MVP).

Design and durability

According to LG, the washer has a durable, elegant tempered glass door and hygienic, durable stainless steel lifters inside the drum. The display is more visible and the larger knob has a metallic finish for easy use.

Performance and technology

  • AI DD™: detects not only the weight but also the softness of the fabric, and chooses the optimal motions by itself – with 18% more fabric protection in Intertek testing.
  • Steam™: LG Steam removes 99.9% of allergens such as house dust mites; the Allergy Care cycle is approved by the British Allergy Foundation (BAF).
  • 6 Motion with an Inverter Direct Drive motor and a spin speed of up to 1400 rpm.
  • SmartThinQ and Smart Diagnosis to monitor the washer from your phone and troubleshoot quickly.

Capacity and efficiency

9kg is at the larger end for front loaders, suiting families of 4 to 6 and fitting sheets and towels in one load.

What is the Low Ampere Cycle and why does it matter in Iraq?

Many Iraqi homes have a generator subscription limited to a few amps. LG's Low Ampere Cycle is designed to run on less current, so you can use the washer alongside other appliances without tripping the breaker. With the Inverter Direct Drive motor attached directly to the drum, power use, noise and vibration are reduced, and LG gives a 10-year warranty on the motor.

Who is it for?

Product FAQ

Will it work on a low-amp generator subscription?

Yes. It has LG's Low Ampere Cycle, designed to run on less current and suited to limited generator subscriptions. It is still best not to run it at the same time as heavy loads such as an air conditioner or water heater.

Is it suitable for allergy sufferers?

Yes. LG Steam removes 99.9% of allergens such as house dust mites, and the Allergy Care cycle is approved by the British Allergy Foundation. That helps children and people with asthma or allergies.

Is 9kg right for my family?

9kg suits families of 4 to 6 and lets you wash sheets and towels in a single cycle. For very large families, a higher-capacity top loader is worth considering.

Does the washer need special installation?

It only needs an earthed power socket, a water tap and a nearby drain, on a level floor so it does not vibrate during spinning. Remove the transit bolts at the back before the first wash, as shown in the user manual.

What warranty do I get and how do payment and delivery work?

You get a full 1-year warranty when buying from Albab Alaly. You pay cash on delivery once you have checked the appliance, and we deliver the washer to all Iraqi governorates.
