The MSI MAG Z790 TOMAHAWK WIFI motherboard is an ATX board on the Intel Z790 chipset that supports Intel Core 14th, 13th and 12th Gen processors as well as Pentium Gold and Celeron on the LGA1700 socket. It combines a robust 16+1+1 phase power design, DDR5 memory, a PCIe 5.0 graphics slot and four PCIe 4.0 M.2 slots with Wi-Fi 6E and 2.5G LAN, making it a well-rounded Z790 board without flagship pricing.

Design and build

The board carries the dark MAG styling with an extended heatsink over the power stages, 7W/mK thermal pads and an M.2 Shield Frozr that keeps NVMe drives from throttling.
