Design

The Rival 3 Gen 2 has a comfortable symmetrical right-hand shape measuring 120.6 x 67 x 38 mm, and at 77 g it is easy to flick and control. The white finish looks clean on any white desk setup, the 100% PTFE feet glide smoothly, and the Super Mesh Paracord cable means no snags and no drag while you play.

Performance

  • TrueMove Core sensor up to 8,500 CPI
  • 300 IPS tracking and 35G acceleration
  • 1000Hz polling rate
  • 1.35 ms click latency
  • 6 programmable buttons
  • Mechanical switches with a 60 million click guarantee

Connectivity

The SteelSeries Rival 3 Gen 2 connects to your PC through a 1.8 m USB Type-A cable and works plug-and-play on Windows. Lighting, buttons and CPI levels can be customised with the SteelSeries software.

Technology in plain words

CPI sets how far the cursor moves compared with your hand. A 1000Hz polling rate means the mouse updates its position a thousand times per second for smooth tracking. PTFE feet are a very slippery material that reduces friction on your mouse pad, and the paracord cable is light and flexible so it feels close to wireless.

Who should buy it?

It is ideal for anyone who wants a reliable wired gaming mouse at a sensible price, FPS and competitive players, fans of clean white setups, and everyday study or office use.
