Description

The GIGABYTE AORUS K9 Optical is a full-size gaming keyboard with swappable Flaretech optical-mechanical switches. It uses light instead of metal contacts to register each press, delivering instant response and high durability with per-key RGB lighting.

Design

The keyboard has an easy-to-clean floating key design and a splash-proof body that protects it from light spills. It measures 439 × 140 × 37 mm and weighs 1180 g for a stable feel on the desk, with a 1.8 m braided cable and built-in cable management.

Performance and key specs

  • Flaretech switches rated for 100 million keystrokes, 4 mm travel, 2 mm actuation and 55 g peak force.
  • 0.03 ms debounce time.
  • N-Key rollover and up to 1000Hz report rate.
  • Top-quality steel springs and chatterproof technology.

Connectivity and compatibility

The keyboard connects via USB 2.0 and works with Windows. Lighting and key programming are controlled with GIGABYTE AORUS Engine software.

Technologies in plain words

An optical switch interrupts a beam of light when pressed, so there are no metal contacts to wear out and no signal bounce, which makes every press fast and precise. Swappable switches let you change the switches for a different feel without any soldering.

Product FAQ

What is the advantage of optical switches over traditional mechanical ones?

Optical switches register presses with light, so there are no metal contacts to wear out. That gives a 0.03 ms debounce time and a life of up to 100 million keystrokes.

Can the AORUS K9 switches be swapped?

Yes, the keyboard supports swappable Flaretech switches. You can change them for a different feel without any soldering.

Is the keyboard water-resistant?

It has a splash-proof design that protects against light spills. It is not waterproof, so dry it immediately if something spills.

How do I control the lighting?

Install AORUS Engine from the GIGABYTE website. It lets you set per-key RGB lighting and program keys on Windows.

Is there a warranty on the AORUS K9 Optical in Iraq?

Yes, it comes with a full 2-year warranty from Al Bab Al Aaly. You can also pay cash on delivery, with shipping to every governorate in Iraq.
