The Samsung 980 500GB is an internal NVMe M.2 SSD with a PCIe 3.0 interface. It offers a big speed jump over SATA SSDs and hard drives at a budget price, making it a smart way to speed up a desktop PC or laptop.
It uses the M.2 2280 form factor (80.15 × 22.15 × 2.38 mm), weighs no more than 8 g and installs straight into an M.2 slot with no cables. It is built on the Samsung Pablo controller and Samsung V-NAND 3-bit MLC flash, and uses HMB (Host Memory Buffer), which borrows a small slice of system RAM instead of a separate DRAM chip.
The drive runs on PCIe Gen 3.0 x4 with NVMe 1.4 and works with most motherboards and laptops that have an NVMe-capable M.2 slot, including PCIe 4.0 slots at its full speed. It supports AES 256-bit encryption (Class 0), TCG/Opal and IEEE1667.
NVMe is a protocol built specifically for flash memory. It talks directly to the PCIe lanes on your motherboard instead of the older SATA interface, so Windows, games and large files open many times faster than on a hard drive. V-NAND is Samsung's technology that stacks memory cells vertically for higher capacity and longer life, and TBW is the total amount of data the drive is rated to write over its lifetime.
It is a great fast boot drive for budget gaming and office PCs, and an easy upgrade for laptops still running a hard drive or SATA SSD. The Samsung 980 500GB price in Iraq at Al-Bab Al-Aali is very affordable.

Yes, it works in both PCIe 4.0 and PCIe 3.0 M.2 slots. Its top speed is Gen 3 speed, up to 3,100 MB/s, in either case.
The Samsung 980 uses HMB, which borrows a small part of system RAM instead of an onboard DRAM chip. This lowers the price while keeping excellent performance for everyday use and gaming.
The box contains the M.2 SSD and a warranty and user guide. The mounting screw usually comes with your motherboard or laptop.
Yes, it comes from Al-Bab Al-Aali with a full 3-year warranty in Iraq, with cash on delivery and delivery to every governorate.
Yes, as long as the laptop has an NVMe-capable M.2 2280 slot. Its 2.38 mm thickness and low power draw make it well suited to portable devices.
